2026 Cleanup Dates

We’re excited to announce our 2026 community litter cleanup dates.

Please consider joining a community cleanup to help keep Silver City a clean and beautiful place to live. We meet one morning per month, from 9 a.m. to noon. Since October 2021, over 1,000 volunteers have picked up nearly 33,000 lbs. of trash from our Town.

By joining our volunteer community, you will be supporting the efforts of our Town and New Mexico Dept. of Transportation maintenance crews, which simply can’t keep up with the amount of trash on our landscapes. We are also working with these institutions to improve local waste disposal infrastructure and educate our community about best practices. No one likes litter and it can be frustrating to pick up other people’s trash, but we MUST pick it up. There is no other way to remove litter from our neighborhoods, streets, streams, and roads. The longer litter sits, the more it off-gasses, decomposes into toxic microplastics, and creates safety hazards for drivers, children, and animals.

So please, bring a friend or family member and be a part of our anti-litter movement! Thank you, Silver City!
